What the calculator includes
It estimates energy bought from the grid, not just energy added to the battery. The default 90% efficiency allows for conversion and charging losses, but temperature, battery conditioning and low-power overhead can change the result.
Use the unit rate from your bill.
A national average or price-cap figure may not match an EV tariff, off-peak window, public charger or standing charge. This tool deliberately lets you enter the price you actually pay.
