PHEV OR BEV?

Carry an engine
or commit to electric?

These SUVs solve the charging question in different ways. The JAECOO can cover many local trips on electricity and retains petrol for long journeys; the Geely removes the engine entirely.

The choice depends on charging behaviour

A PHEV only delivers its strongest electric-running case when it is plugged in regularly. If it is driven mostly with an empty battery, the owner carries two powertrains without gaining the intended electric benefit. A BEV makes charging unavoidable but removes petrol use altogether.

Choose JAECOO if…

Your daily distance fits inside the official electric range, you can plug in frequently, and petrol backup materially reduces anxiety or route inconvenience.

Choose Geely if…

You can charge reliably, want all driving to be electric and prefer a 280-mile official range to maintaining a petrol engine as well.

Do not compare “total range” with BEV range.

The JAECOO's combined petrol-and-electric figure answers a different question from the Geely's battery-only WLTP number.
